Ever had a first cast fish?

Hi,

Have you ever fished a new river or beat and first cast caught a salmon?

I had that luck a few years ago when on our first week on the Spey at Grantown on Spey.

Walked into the water and cast across the Stream at the Graveyard stretch and was into a fish.

it wasn’t big but never the less a very welcome start to our week.

I thought, as you do, Christ this is going to be some week.

But as you’ve probably thought by now, salmon fishing is not that good. I caught another the following day and that was that.

Anyone else had a first cast fish ?
